The stop playing the cell-dwellers and actually play some good teams (i.e. Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, and even Baltimore is better then what they have been playing). Follow that up with a series with the Red Sox. IMO they are pretty much done for. They will not be scoring at the torrid pace against good pitching staffs, which 3 of those 4 teams have.

Lemme add this, Toronto and Baltimore have top 14 team ERA's in the majors. Both their problems are with scoring runs. Look what happened to the yankees last time the played Baltimore, lost 2 of 3. Right now the are beating Tampa bay 5.84 ERA, Chicago 4.91 ERA, and Kansas city 4.59. Dont get me wrong beating up on the crap is what your supposed to do, just think they are in trouble.

They'e been killing the bad teams, and that has allowed them to become 66-60. However, once they start playing the Indians, reality will catch back up to them and they will start losing again. I hope they fall way out of contention, as far as baseball will let them. I hate them so much. I hope you do too.

We are talking about a Kansas City team that took 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox in Boston and 2 out of 3 from the Tigers in Detroit. Keep in mind the the White Sox have also taken the first 2 games from Detroit. The Yankees took care of Cleveland earlier in the year when the Yankees were off to the bad start. Im sure they wont score 15, 16 or 21 runs in a game against those teams, but they will score enough to win They took 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox the last two series against them The only series that really worries me would be the Angels, who always play the Yanks tough. The Yankees will be in the playoffs, come season end.

Not with the way they are playing now. Can you say 1st in runs scored in the entire major league? There are no holes in their lineup; they can easily score 6-10 runs per game for the rest of the year. In their last five games, they scored 16, 8, 9, 7, and 16. Detroit has actually been playing horrible lately, so the 8 gms against them won't be too difficult(Yanks could take at least 5 out of the 8). the yanks beat Anahiem already 2 out of three, so they can do it again. The only thing they need to worry about is boston and cleveland. Anyway, after this month, they go back to playing crappy Al east teams again in September like Tampa Bay. The yankees have 52 gms left and should be able to win at least 35 of them to go 95-67 on the year, which most likely won't give them the division, but probably the wild card.

As a Red Sox fan, I defintely hope the Yankees fall flat on their face over the next few weeks. Beating up on teams like Tampa Bay, KC and the White Sox are the games a team has to win, and a few months ago I do not even think the Yankees would have won those games.
In reality, I think the Yankees have finally found their groove. A-Rod is having an amazing year, the pitching staff is finally giving more consistent outings as well as going deeper into games so only time will tell.

They will eventually fall out of contention. The only reason they have been winning is because theyhave been playing shitty teams like Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay, and Kansas City. You are right, the yankees are about to play some decent teams and once they face the red sox, it will be all over for them. They will not catch the red sox in the division and even if they win the wild card, they will get booted out of the first round of the playoffs.

They have the best record in baseball since the all-star break - plus they have 6 games left with the red sox..... remember last August?. Haters can only wish they are done.

They will have problems soon. They have not played a team with a winning record in over a month!! True. Check out the schedule if you don't believe.

With the way they're hitting, I don't see it happening. If anything, they'll make up more ground, especially with Cleveland and Detroit struggling right now.
The Red Sux are starting to hear footsteps.
