First world- the democratic countries. But the truth? they are the most powerful. The third world- are the poorest. Second world is any country not first nor third.
=======
The original distintion among First, Second, and Third Worlds (modelled on the old French Estates) was this: First World: Developed industrial capitalist countries such as Britain, France and the US. Second World: Developed industrial socialist (i.e., Marxist-Leninist) countries such as the USSR, Poland, and Romania. Third World: Underdeveloped countries. To this categorisation was added the Fourth World: Underdeveloped countries with few, if any, natural resources.

The term "third world" was the first time used by the Chinese to refer to the underdeveloped, semi-feudalist countries. As far as I know, a political theory had been devised by Mao (called simply the "Three Worlds Theory", where "first world" referred to (the USA), and the Soviet Union. "Second world" would then be the Western European countries.
The point was that the "first world" was the greatest danger to the world, and therefore the "third world" should cooperate with the "second world" (and in some versions even with the USA) to fend off this threat posed mainly by the Soviet Union to dominate the world.

We're supposed to call them the "developing world" now.
It's an old system of classification of countries' wealth. Yes there were first and second world countries in that system.
The first world was basically the richest most industrialised group of countries like the USA, UK, Japan, Germany etc., second world was the group for fairly developped, but not particularly developed countries like Greece, a lot of the Middle East and North Africa etc. and the third world was the group of poorest, least developed countries where there is not enough food or medicine to keep the population alive...

The third world is a term use by the more developed and capitalist societies to describe the less fortunate, especially African and Asian countries whose land are naturally dried.These Africans and Asians are also suffering because they have unelected, irresponsible and corrupt government officials.The world, I assume was created by God or Nature on the same day.So there is nothing like the first, second or third world.

The worlds are determined by development and economics. The first world consists of those nations which are the riches and most developed industrially/technologically. The second world are those who are somewhat developed, and have achieved some kind of independence financially from first world nations. Third world countires arent developed technologically, and are often dependent on other first world coountires to help them economically through loans etc.

The "First World" is the "upper" class...
The "Second World" is the "middle" and "lower" classes...
And the "Third World" is the "dirt poor" and "starving" classes that are so down under the economic radar, they don't even qualify as "lower" class...
Therefore...
The "Second" and "Third" Worlds are the "shame" of the "First World..."
Unfortunately...most people in the "First World" don't give a damn...

The "third world" refers to developing countries which have not entered the 21st century: countries where most of the people live in poverty, and have no access to education, or opportunities. These countries usually have not gotten out of their dependence on strong, controlling tyrannical governments.
