27^(1/3) = 3

3^2 = 9.

What is 27 ^(2/3)?

This can be written as

(27^2)^1/3 = 729 ^(1/3)

now 9 *9 = 81

and 81 * 9 = 729

so 729^(1/3) = 9

or 27^(2/3) = 9
