You should be happy that you have reached the age you are at, many people don't live half as long as you have. Treasure the years ahead instead of mourning the ones that have already gone.

Hello.Yes,our young years do go by pretty quickly thats for sure. With them comes our widsom and foresight that being younger never gives us.There is nothing wrong in holding onto your youth. It is our past that gives us what we now have and which will go with us towards out future. At 38, you are still young at heart. You should perhaps celebrate your 39th by having a themed party about you and your past.Pictures, records, first dates, schools you went to,places you visited, how you used to annoy your Mum & Dad, even the clothes you would've worn! Enjoy the party theme! With age comes maturity and many other things. If you have good health, then enjoy it to the full.If you're in a dull boring job, change it.If you're married, start an affair as the chap sang in the song "The Pina Colada Song"! If there's somewhere you've never been too, treat yourself and go. The world is full of possibilites. All the things of life you could be doing before you really do become old. Think about it,but don't think about it too long. Alan L (Aged 53 and whose health has gone to pot.)

40 is the new 20

I agree, getting old sucks. But I have lived a good life, have lots of good memories, and I try to enjoy myself. It is said that 60 is the new 40, and I feel great. I don't feel at 60 like my grandparents did when they were 60. Cheer up the best is yet to come. I now have time to go on cruises, spend time with my grandchildren, I'm home schooling 2 of them, I still work part time and get to enjoy time with my husband. God has been good to me, I have had lots of hard times, too, but it has been good.

Do you know the melting point of frosting?:)

(Hey, I'm 41. Every day brings me closer to 82 than the day I was born, but so? I'm not the idiot I was at 21 {although I have way less sex, I'm wiser but just heal slower.})

Trust me, this isn't Logan's Run. You don't have to go to Carosel. Besides at 38 going on 39 you'll always be a young chick to guys like me. You just can't mess with my mind as much. (Some, but not as much.:))

I remember how my 40th affected me - much the same as it seems to you right now.
50 was less traumatic, because I expected less - and was not too disappointed when my expectations were fulfilled
60 was good because retirement was not too far away (I had to retire at 62 in my job then)
70 was genuinely great. I finally retired from the second post retirement job at 69 and had nothing to do but enjoy my family and our new home. We moved from Surrey to Shropshire just before my final retirement and it was/is and will be fantastic.

Don't waste energy on fretting, please. Life gets better with age, not worse.

This is what I think, God gives you 1 inch of wisdom for every year you live, by the time your smart enough to use the wisdom your too old to appreciate it. lol.
Don't sweat the years. I do not try to hold on to the youth as I can't wait to be the crabby old lady who yells "get off my lawn" at the kids.

Why be upset at something that you have no control over? Instead, see this as a fresh start, do lots of enjoyable and memorable things, that way, in another forty years when you're eighty, you'll look back and say "Those years were really nice, I aged nicely, I'l glad I got to do all those fun things."

Life begins at forty, the naughty forties and all that, just think of the next couple of years as a warm up for the rest of your life!
If your birthday is in november does that make you a scorpio? if you are then a passionate sign should really lite up at 40!
