I'm not saying it's true or not true, but I am saying proceed with caution.

I know that you used the term "jacks" in the question instead of "power supplies," but just in case, make sure whatever supply you use can handle the current. The voltage matters, but if the supply can't provide enough current, it's probably going to burn itself out.

If current specifications are not given, use power/wattage. If the computer requires 500 watts, use a supply that can safely deliver 500 watts or more, for example.
