The reason i ask is because its becoming clear that we cant do certain things such as celebrate holiday seasons because it offends people, we must change words in sentences so as not to offend, we are not allowed to wear certain items of clothing.
For instance i was not allowed entrance into a shopping centre because i was wearing a football scarf. a friggin mutha scooping football scarf!
it just seems to me that everything has restricted our own damn freedom that the Government are "protecting".
Why should anyone feel scared to voice their opinions on anything? we should be able to wear whatever the hell we want!
What a croc of hot steaming hamster poop oozing from an elephants anus! screw you the Political Stupidness Crowd!

Mr Skeptic you do not know what you are talking about, i am in no way abusive to other races. but i do have a problem when at Christmas there are rants about how we should not celebrate it. and im sure you are aware that most people agree with me on the subject of Political Correctness.
i think you need to open your eyes and realise that Political Correctness is increasing and strangling our freedom. People are afraid to say certain innocent words.
eat your skeptic pie and fill yourself up with some truth syrup. and i agree with two posters that im not gonna change just because of the Stupidness
also you mention about shopping centres are allowed to stop you from entering. i would agree with you if the people entering were being a nuisence. but not for a piece of clothing, its utter tosh.

I agree with your argument, your wordage is a little strange.
I think anyone should be allowed to say anything, or wear anything they want. People need to get used to the world and quit getting offended by every little thing or issue.
You can be arrested for hate crime by saying certain things. You then see people all the time making threats of violence and bodily harm and nothing is done. Either way, these are just words and just because words can hurt, they don't actually physically hurt. So this whole offense thing is a bunch of everything you have called it.

FROM AN AMERICAN, that is absolutely priceless coming from a country that is the home base for Yahoo...and political correctness is under control in the US?...give your head a shake man..your country is rampant with political correctness...now, in Canada?...my children's school was not allowed a Christmas tree because of one, that is one in 700, child was Jehovah Witness...I heard about it after the fact and If I had of known, I would have arrived and planted the tree in the lobby and defied anyone to touch it...and in our mall, that is Oshawa Centre, if I buy a bandanna at GAP and wear it in the mall, I can be tossed and when I protest I am told that it is private property and I am trespassing while I where that bandanna even though I purchased it at one of the mall stores...no "political correctness" is totally out of control and I ask the American to stand outside the White House and make comments against Bush and see how under control political correctness is in the US....and my British friend, wear the right jersey, say Manchester United, or Liverpool Football Cluband you will be welcomed with open arms...you are just wearing the wrong club.

I agree, stupid for a shopping centre.
Many places have a rule against football clothing. Not just shopping centres. It used to be just against football tops to stop fans of various clubs fighting against each other. You see, you can not discriminate against the fans of say Millwall while allowing the fans of Portsmouth in with football tops even though the fans of one of those two clubs are far more likely to be involved in violence.
The ban has spread to other football items because people keep complaining that scarves etc are allowed.
It would be worth seeing if they apply that rule to kids. Because, if they do not, then they are acting illegally (and if they do, then it would be easier to argue for a boycott).
There are organistations that can help you. Liberty for one.

I agree ! I always saw "political correctness" for the travesty it really is , and MANY people are sick to the stomach of it .
I`m not "politically correct" , and never was . I say it like it is ! If anyone takes "offence" , I don`t really give a rat`s asss , and I`ll tell them !
If people take offence with our celebrating our holidays etc , they can always go back to wherever the hell they came from ! Have they ever thought that maybe they offend us ........ just by being here ?
This boy don`t change for no one either !!

U.S. citizen here. DON'T DO IT!
Political correctness was pushed on America, and quickly pushed out! We were sick of it in months.
A more opposite way to deal with our freedoms I cannot imagine short of all out socialism.
Good luck to you. We've pretty much dealt with ours. That's why we sound so rude frequently. Reaction to a few years of "political correctness" combined with young country, combined with our personality on top of it all.
We're working on it! ;)
Oh, side note: Be aware that some rather nasty posts are identical on both sides of the Atlantic save they substitute the words "American" and "British". Funny how they use the same phrasing and sentences to insult both sides, yet "aren't" the same people (sure, right). Let others know. Take care, all.

You haven't got a clue.
What holiday have you been prevented from celebrating?
How have you changed your vocabulary? If you mean that people don't like you being abusive to them, good!
What opinions do you feel you can't voice? Is that because you are prevented from expressing those opinions, or because you don't like people arguing back and telling you when your opinions are nonsense.
I think it's silly that you weren't allowed into a shopping centre with your football scarf on. But if it's a private development, it's their rules. And you are at liberty to shop somewhere else.
I guess they've had trouble with football fans in the past, and made this rule, which seems silly. You can wear anything you want. And people can deny you access to their premises if they want.
Most of what you've ranted about has nothing to do with political correctness, and everything to do with courtesy, and a huge chunk only exists in your imagination.
EDIT: Nobody has ever told me I can't celebrate Christmas, and I don't believe anyone has told you that.
I'm sure you aren't abusive to anyone (did I mention other races?), so tell us the sort of things you "aren't allowed to say", or express the opinions you say you're scared to express!
What are these innocent words you're scared to say?
And if you read it properly, I agreed with you that the football scarf rule was silly. But that has nothing to do with political correctness.

It is ridiculous! This past winter a woman was displaying a wreath on the outside of her house, but her neighborhood group made her take it down because it may offend some people. UGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

How does political correctness strangle freedom? While I certainly am as tired of it as anyone (more probably)
As far as strangling freedom, how can you talk about anything strangling freedom in this country and not mention the "Patriot" Act?
