The thylacline or Tasmanian tiger is believed to be extinct. However there are occasional sightings reported in remote locations.

True tigers live only in Asia and there are two species the
bengal which lives India, and Southeast Asia many in the tropical regions; and the Amur (used to be called the Siberian) tiger that lives now only on the Amur pennisula of eastern Asia.

Tigers live in the jungle-like parts of North-Eastern Africa and Western Asia. There aren't any local tigers in Australia. There was the Tasmanian tiger, but now it's extinct, and technically, it was a dog anyway. The name was for the stripes.

Apart from those in zoos, there are anbsolutely none whatsoever. Tere was a tasmanian tiger, but it's extinct, and isn't technically a tiger anyway.
