Dear Mr. Howard,

I work hard and pay my taxes, so does my wife. We have no children (not by choice) so no child support benifit to us.

We don't have a mortgage so no tax break there.

We pay for private health care $320 per month and all we get back there is 30% rebate paid after July 1 and we also pay for medicare with is 1% of our salaries, - we don't go to a bulk billing practice so we are $35 out of pocket for each doctors visit.

I do have to buy over $200 worth of medicine per month to keep alive, so I have to spend over $1000 to start getting cheaper PBS medicines, so I'm still paying for medicines,
so I don't become a burden on society.

We are what most people are Middle class, not rich but OK -

What incentive is there for us to vote for your party ?

This is why the Liberals are pushing for Socialized medicine. They think this will solve everyone's problems. On paper it does seem kind of nice but I lived in Germany where they are on Socialized medicine. Everyone gets the same healthcare. My mother gave birth to my brother in Germany. She waited over 2 hours before a doctor could help. She almost gave birth in the ER. The government should make these pharmaceutical companies sell their drugs cheaper. The same drugs you and I take can be bought in Canada a a third of the cost. Why is that you say? Because our government allows these companies to sell these drugs dirt cheap to foreign countries why we are here to recover their costs. It is an awful mess. SOCIALIZED MEDICINE IS NOT THE ANSWER!

Unfortunately the middle class are always the ones who pay. They are not poor enough to get government help, they are not rich enough to get out of paying taxes altogether and there are a lot more people in the middle class than any other. So the middle class is the golden calf that gets milked.

I think you are barking up the wrong tree if you think that Howard and his merry men are going to do anything for us. All he is and has ever been interested in is looking after his rich mates and sucking up to George Bush. Whether or not anyone else will do any better remains to be seen.

I have the same problems you do except I have a mortgage as well and 4 children. I think it would be better if people started demanding that some of these rich fat cats started paying their fair share of taxes and contributing something to this country that gave them their fortunes. Most of those in the top 10% or so pay NO TAX AT ALL!! How is that fair?

Let the party address the concerns of the middle class and as for the medicines, a legislative move must be initiated to pass a law on this matter.

The Dumocrats think your rich if you make middleclass wages. And when they talk about taxing the bejesus out of the rich, they're thinking of you!
I am not even middle class. I made 17,500 in 1999 and paid $800 in Fed Income Taxes thanks to Clinton's tax rates.. In 2001, I made the same but recieved no tax burden and got a very much needed $600 in earned income tax credit. Thank you "W"!
