If you're talking Internet love here... not ridiculous at all... it happens all the time... I've seen it and even shared it in my nine years online... neither of the two I thought I felt something deeper for... were the people they had professed to be... and it's easily done as well... at any age...
And as for your 'unasked question'... is it wise? No it isn't! even though a few relationships have worked this way... the majority never will.
People that you never met and sat with... whose vibes you never picked up on... whose face and eyes and movements... you never got to scrutinise... and whose past you only get through selective editing... are not the people you can say you love in a full and meaningful way.
The old fashioned boy meets girl cannot be beaten... and no amount of pictures... films... 'phones and screen images can truly help you fall in love... it's loneliness and isolation and a serious need for companionship!
Open your eyes as you travel too an fro... and stop searching... and you'll really meet someone worthy of your love who'll love you in return in real time.
Good luck:-)

Not that ridiculous - I fancy the pants off George Clooney and I've never met him (although I truly believe he will turn up at my front door one day with a bunch of flowers).

If you mean a celebrity, well thats just normal, if you mean someone from cyber world, well it's nice to see you can connect with people and be stimulated by someones mind rather than just there physical appearance. Personally I have encountered a few people here who I fancy the pants off of!!!

Not all that ridiculous - attraction involves any or all of the senses, as well as the cerebral and even spiritual, and it is not necessary to meet for that to happen. Of course, in the event of meeting, it could all come to nothing but that could happen anyway in more normal circumstances and does not somehow disqualify the initial attraction that was formed 'in absentia'.

like a celebrity? Not really that crazy. You admire them and then it becomes something more. But you don't really know that person so until you get to know them (if you ever do) then it's sadly nothing more than an infatuation with a certain portion of them/their personality.

Not ridiculous. I think its sexy. Leave more room for imagination and fantasy. But of coz hopes can be dashed or crushed once met!!! quite a risk i dare say!

If you want to mock someone that is fine. But I would never do anyone like you did. Believe what you will.
