I just bought a new labtop only to discover it had an intel chipset.. so i said hey ill give it a shot.. i try to run 5 year old direct x 8 games and wow not impressed.. personally i think all computers should be outfitted with good graphics cards especially labtops due to the difficulty in upgrading them... nvidia is my favorite atm.. just cause every other card ive used has been of poor quality and easily broken down..

Good gaming worthy graphics cards cost money, and quite a lot of people don't ever play games on their computer, so they have no need to spend the extra money for something they have no use for, that is why every computer doesn't have a good graphics card. No offense, but if you wanted to play games on your laptop, you really should have checked which graphics card it had BEFORE you bought it.

The Chipset that the computer is not the Graphics Card. almost all higher end computers come with the top of the line NVIDA Graphics cards in them.
Normally the problem is buying a lower end or the cheaper off brand computers, that have a tendency to fill there machines with cheap components. TRy looking at DELL

because intel is not into the gaming market with gpus
ati and nvidia are
so you typically find something like a 945 chipset that does everything including graphics with shared memory
better laptops have the nvidia chipsets ( go 7300, 7600, etc.. ) with discreet ( non shared memory ) and faster core 2 duo cpus with 2gb of memory ( and xp pro not vista as OS of choice )
but unless you buy a X205 or XPS based laptop that is direct direclty towards games, gaming on a laptop will always be limited to certian easy on dx9 titles

It is really because Intel targets the bigger market, the business/office apps market. Gamers' market is quite large but a big part is already cornered by consoles. Remaining gamers are split between laptops and monster machines (gaming desktops).

When buying a laptop with gaming in mind, choose the gpu well by referring to this:

When your purchasing a laptop for gaming - You don't go off and buy one with a standard graphics card on it for the reason you have just expressed. You Must take the 'Gamming" factor into consideration. Same with PC's except you can atleast upgrade thouse when you stuff up your purchase!

You just bought a cheap piece of crap. Go spring for something a little better. If you buy crap, you will get crap. Don't expect something you picked up for a little bit of nothing to run Oblivion.
