Depends on where you live in the NYC area. If you're in downtown/Manhattan, simple living premises run over $3000 a month, at a minimum. Get out to Queens, and that will drop in half.

well it depends on what part of NY. It won't be cheap, even if you live in the pjs unless you make absolutely no money. Try nytimes.com and click real estate. You can find lodging in any of the 5 Burroughs or anywhere outside too :)
