Download AVG free from:

http://free.grisoft.com/

It's the best Anti-Virus I've used. I got rid of Norton off my computer because it was rubbish and really slowed my computer down.

Probably 'Kaspersky Internet Security', version 6 is currently available free on the PC Advisor cover disk with a cheap upgrade to v7.

Any anti-virus is better than having no anti-virus.

There really isn't a 'best'. Most provide comprehensive coverage. You just need to make sure that you don't open dodgy e-mail attachments or visit dodgy websites.

The one that I would choose is any of the TrendMicro products. They have a long history of providing a good stable anti-virus software.

There is NO clear cut definitive answer to this question.
There are several out there that are very good.
Symantec (Norton Security Suite)
McAfee (Internet Security Suite)
PCCillin
and On an ON you must remember they all have there good and Bad points and most importantly they are all in competition with one and other.

ESET NOD32.. It doesn't slow down my PC, cleans fast and it's user friendly..
I even had a virus cleaned by NOD32 which was not detected by my previous anti-virus.. (AVG Free)
And uhh..i don't like Norton..it's sticks like a virus itself.
