I am receiving my mail ok but cant open attatchments unless they are pdf. or gif. anyone any ideas

Check the settings under the SECURITY options, defaults to "Do Not allow attachments to be opened"
If you are unsure how, click HELP, and search the outlook help for full details. (Search security+attatchment at a guess)
