The man should have called the cops to punish the boy for messing with his daughter. What the man did was a crime. Assault and battery at the very least, attempted murder if the DA or boy's family decide to push for it. Kids that age mess around all the time. That doesn't make it right, but that also doesn't give an adult the right to take the law into his own hands. The man will be facing some serious charges and depending on what the DA decides to do, could be subjected to 10-15 years in jail as well as punitive damages if the boy's family sues. It all depends on what he's charged with if the matter comes before the court.

He can still be charged with assault. As an adult he should know better than to try to solve any problems with his fists, no matter what the provocation. I would encourage the 15 year old to report the assault. It is likely that if the boy has a broken nose he will need medical attention and it will get reported anyway by the hospital/doctor.

The 50 year old man is arrested, tried, and goes to jail. There he rots for a while and hopefully learns to control his temper.
The 15 year olds may not have been in the wrong, but 2 wrongs don't make a right.
Or, as I like to put it "The wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God" ~James 1:20

No matter what the situation, adults shouldnt be physically hurting a 15 year old. The kids parents could probably file a lawsuit against the 50 year old man and possible have him put in jail.

A nice guy would recognize that wanting to be "as close as possible" to a girl less than half his age with whom he's had a handful of brief interactions is an incredibly creepy sentiment. This guy is not nice. He either has issues that should preclude him from working with students, is counting on you being too nice to call him on the inappropriateness of what he is doing, or both. Tell him you are not interested in any kind of personal relationship with him, you do not want him to call you, and that while you don't want to get him in trouble, you will report him to the university (specifically, campus security and whatever department supervises cafeteria staff) if he does not respect your wishes. Then follow through.

If reported to the police the 50 year old will be filed on for assault on a minor. Big deal ....so I suggest someone tell the police.

I dont think sexually experimenting without full intercourse with someone of the same age deserves to end up being met with such violence. What has the poor daughter got to say? I think the father doesnt like the fact that his little girl is now a woman. If anyone hurt my son like that i would have him jailed...

well that 50 year lod guy can get into a lot of trouble. 15 years olds kids will just be kids and be curious about things. it's understandable that he may have gotten mad, but he shouldn't have attacked the boy, not he could be charged with assault and battery.

Regardless of what the older man found the teenage boy doing, assault on a minor is assault on a minor. I don't know the technicalities, but I do know that he should be brought up on charges.

You could be arrested for Assault and Battery irregardless of what he was doing to your daughter. The Police may feel sorry for you, but the kids parents can also sue you for negligence. You could lose everything. I understand you were angry, but that doesn't make what you did right. Good Luck.....
