It seems like this yahoo answers is filled with "My boyfriend and i had sex...im 15....i might be pregnant...what should i do??"

I'm 18, and i think this is just appalling. What kind of things are teenagers learning nowdays? I happen to think that abstinence until marriage is the responsible thing to do. What goes through the minds of teenagers these days.....what could possibly justify sexual intetrcourse at 15???

how stupid are teenagers? well how do you rate that...just kidding. i think you see kids posting q's like this becasue it actually happenes its showing you how peoples values these days have lowered and how society and families arent as they use to be. i dont think blaming it on the teens if fully just becasue teens are the reflection of their parents. in other words stupid the teen, stupider the parent

Peer pressure and a lack of strong morals I think cloud the vision of those whose hormones are surging. However, I don't think this can be attributed only to teenagers today. If you check out some of the movies from the 50s and 60s, that was going on back then as well. I grew up in the 80s and I had sex at 16...but I married the guy.

I think that the more sexually advanced you get to at an earlier age, the more you're going to have to do to make sex exciting when you get older. I believe this is why people are into weirder and weirder stuff--because they have to make it more fun. Just plain sex isn't good enough anymore.

Totally agreed. I'm baffled (and glad to be away from High School Hell). I am also 18 and I haven't had sex. I don't need to. I know what bad can happen. The problem I see is that a lot of these kids are uneducated about it until high school, when it is too late. Many see it as rebelious against their parents or something, then end up with baby and no support. I see the looks the pregnant girls get and the gossip on them, but half of the ones ratting on them go do the same thing.

If you think 15 is too young to have sex your probably right. But I remember these two kids that lived down the block from me when I was a kid (around 8 or 9), telling me they snuck into an empty house and took each others virginity. Sex happens to different ppl at different ages. I sometimes feel old fashioned for attaching moral and emotional values to sex, when there are so many ppl out there now days saying "It's just sex", and banging anything on two legs. Don't get me wrong, that's my opinion, and I, for one, tend to also say "Do what makes you feel good", and try to let folks live their lives how they want to. People should have the freedom to do as they please, and just because we don't like it, doesn't make it wrong. That freedom also includes taking responsibility for said actions. Like the old saying goes: "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime"

First of all, your question (How stupid are teenagers today??) is really offending. By reffering to teenagers, you are catergorizing ALL of them, which is unjustified and rather rude.
No, I do not believe that anyone should have sex at age 15, because they are still technically children. However, nor do I believe in your complete extreme option- no sex until marriage.

Believe it or not, sex is an important factor. It is not the most important one, however it does have its consiquences. A person unhappy with his/her sex life could cause depression and even disliking of their sexual partner. Therefore, why wait until after marriage? Marriage isn't the same as boyfriend-girlfriend relationships, because the seperation of bf-gf relationship is called a break up, where as for marriage it's called DIVORCE.
Once more I repeat, age 15 is an extreme, but so is after marriage. Why are you showing only extreme sides? This matter isn't only black and white, you know. I believe there are many more options. From the age of 18, I think it's quite alright for a young couple to sleep together. I'm 17, but the only 2 things stopping me from having sex is the fact that I'm not ready and I haven't found that special someone I want to share my first time with.
According to your additional notes, you believe in sex after marriage ONLY. Well, what if you're 25 and still haven't found someone to marry, but you ARE ready for sexual relations? Are you still considered "too young" and "stupid" because you want to have sex but not ready for marriage?

Teenagers vary. Some even have sex at 13, some at 20. All I'm saying is, not all teenagers are "stupid". Some make misjudgements and mistakes, but that doesn't automatically change their status to dumb.

Hope I helped you see the other side of things.

Well this is no real justification for it. But as I see it kids of today are doing just like what previous generations were doing. By this I mean, previous generations were playing at being adults by smoking. After them came the kids playing at being adults by drinking. Now this generation is playing at being adults by having sex. But in reality they are just doing the act for heck of it and not even seeing the emotional and mental consequences of their actions in the least. And most especially the physical consequences. To them its just another way to be cool and like everyone else. But in reality they are dying a slow death rather they realize it or not.

P.S. A dude I have chatted with a few times told me he lost his at 11, to some 33 year old friend of his mom. Hes 25 now, but he thought it was a real hoot and was proud of it too. Even had and affair with a married chick at 17. I know people say don't believe the hype on the net, but hell society is getting that bad these days if not even worse, so everything is possible today.

Ok I'm 19, I know what you mean.
I've heard and read it all as well.
I think it's your personal choice on when the time is right.
I lost my virginity at 17, only because I was crazy about this
guy... who I happened to be with for a very long time.
There are ages that are outrageously disturbing but i'd say
17 is the youngest age to have sex. I support waiting until
your married. But It's not my thing, I have to be with someone
for a long time to even be married... too long for no sex.
Oh by the way, many of the too young aren't smart about safe sex.

I believe you have to look at these kids parents and society for that answer. there are many, many factors that are leading the youth to be not only sexually active but also irresponsible...and the age keeps getting younger as the years progress it seems.

regardless if you choose abstinence due to religious or other reasons you are making a very wise decision not only for your health but for your emotions, good for you. =)

i'm 26 and the latest age i've heard is 14, maybe 13 for guys. its appalling indeed.

I think they are as stupid as the dumbest government official or teacher, whichever is insaner. It's a case of looking for love in all the wrong places. Parents are too busy, school, life and peers are worse. The whole society is into survival of the fittest, greed and stress. No emotional intelligence. Do they teach you how to think in school or just how to add up your drug money and read to find porno sites?

Bad parenting. Not only what you mentioned, but have you also noticed how terrible these kids' spelling and grammar are?

It's like they go to school, sit in class and play with their cell phones all day and don't listen to a thing they're being taught.

I honestly don't remember being anything like that when I was a teenager.
