What you will need is TIME...and allow it to heal and strengthen your relationship as a couple than doing anything else that can hurt the family all the more. We have to know that in any relationship some parents have prejudices. If you love the person it's always happiness is understatement. There are families that parents' do really have a say in every relationships esp. if the father doesn't like you because you are different. What you will have to do right now is be a friend to the father, just don't overdo it just b/c you want something but be a friend to each one of them, try to learn their ways, things and so on. In that way, you will earn not only his trust but the whole family as well, am sure they will accept you for who you are.

Make sure that anytime you are around he and her parents, be the best person you can be. Don't be fake, and don't kiss ***, parents can see right through that. Show them all that you care about their daughter, sister, family member, etc, as well as their family in general. I agree that time will heal the differences, but, if they see on a regular basis that his daughter is your one and only and truly means the world to you, they will be more accepting of you regardless of race. It may also be benificial to spend one on one time getting to know her father. As scary and intmidating as it may be, it will probably give the both of you a better understanding of each other and your backgrounds and possibly create an everlasting priceless relationship. Keep in mind, some people will never change their views on life, love, race, etc, but don't give up if she really means so much to you! Good luck!

Find some additional common ground besides his daughter. In fact, my dad was the same way--and it wasn't about color, it was about anyone touching his little, sweet, wonderful daughters (all six of us) so that might be the issue.
Anyway, do you both shoot pool? Fish? Watch sports? Play basketball? Try being his son for a few hours a week, as if it is a foregone conclusion, and he will come around, since your intentions are honorable.
Do you play the guitar? Make lanyards? Tie fishing flies? Write him a song, make him a gift. He'll melt. Daddies are still daddy--their hearts can be touched.

Have sex with her mom and she will be on your side. If you can control the mom then you are in there and it is a good way to see what the future has in store for you. Mom's and daughter's are never very far apart whe it comes to look and attitude. If your gonna test drive the car, you better be able to back it into the garage!!!!!

Be persistent. Above all else, he wants his child to be happy. Assure him that you want to make his daughter happy and you will.
