thats what i was wondering. he has more best answers than all of us combined however top contributors are based on percentage and he has less than 10% so that is probably why. also, you have to be a regular contributor to the yahoo answers community in order to keep your top contributor badge (thats right, they can take it away from you after you've worked so hard to get it!!). i lost mine for celebrities, mathematics and homework help after i stopped going to those categories.

my top contributor was removed and everyone said the ten percent thing. I had 14 and 22 percent and it was gone. I got it back when I answered a cabillion questions. I think it must have to do with how many questions you answer in a certain period of time. Not the % of best answers.

In order to be a top contributor he has to focus on one category and he has to get 10% of that category! He is not interested in being a top contributor. He likes to answer every category!
