I'm a lesbian and my family is very homophobic. I know if I tell them that I'm a lesbian they would disown me. Should I just date woman and not care what they think or should I just find a man to make them happy? I think the man option would be easier.

Do not do what makes other people happy. DO what makes you happy. If your a lesbian than you have no want to be with men. Screw your family, im sorry but if they cant accept you for who you are then you dont need them. Do not hide who you are, find a girl that will make you happy. Just date a woman and dont care what anyone thinks.

You CAN go with the man option, but then you wouldn't live the life you want. You will be forcing yourself to like any guy you get in a relationship with and you wont really be happy.
If you go with the girl option, you will be a lot happier being with her, but your family may not love you because of this. A family needs to accept their children no matter what.

Do you still live with them? If so, and you do tell them, I suggest you try to find somewhere to go just in case they do end up disowning you.
Good Luck =)

You do what you have to do, but you need to give your family the first shot. It is a shocker to most families. But you are their daughter and they only want what makes YOU happy. This is your life not theirs. Changing your status to make them happy will only hurt you or someone down the road and you don't want that. Do you have any brothers or sisters that you might be able to talk with out them going ballistic? If you can, you might just see what they think. You never know, you might have some there to support you. You always have options, but don't sell yourself short because your afraid of what others will think. Families do come around when they find out it doesn't where off on them and it isn't something contagious.

You need to do what makes you happy. If you are attracted to girls, you won't be happy with a boyfriend. I personally would tell my family and then move out, but this might not be an option for you. You should do what you feel is right, but don't try to lie to yourself about who you are, it will just make you miserable.

Well as far as my dad is concerned i could be dating a girl because my boyfriend and him refuse to be around each other. So maybe you just need to "date" some guy that you know they would hate and secretly date a girl. A lot of people regret telling their parents that they are bi or gay (i havent told mine, and i wont!)... on the other hand, it may just be better for you than living a lie.

Tell your people, family, date women, enjoy the life here on earth. Their happiness is already in knowing and loving you as you are. Your concern to your own happiness will define the love you find in others. The biggest mistake is trying to live for other people.

You may wish to wait to tell them but please Do NOT marry someone you dont want to be with to make family happy. Youll be leaving him for a woman someday and theyll probably love him and that will make it double bad!

Do you really think that it is fair to some poor man...that you marry him and have his children and never really love him? One day you will comeout and break his and possibly your kids' hearts because you have been living a lie.

Date no one until you get this straight.
You have to live your life but you have to answer to your parents, obviously. I think you should work on getting independent of mom and dad, then you will/can be freer in your decisions.
Man option is no.
