I have a freshly minted Canadian penny with the one side blank, does anyone know if it has any value?

If it's legit, it would almost surely be worth something (much more than the face value of 1 cent) - coins and stamps with errors are usually caught before they're distributed, but if the get past the inspections and get out, they usually have good value. Check with a couple of local coin shops.
