First off, he'd only wind up seeing any letter from a kid if they thought they could milk a photo-op out of it.

You'd either get no response, or a form letter response by mistake (over-worked intern) saying they appreciate that you took the time to write, or some lame form response that says he respects your opinion and is trying the best he can (you'd only get that if your letter was real gentle and tactful and some intern thought it was cute). This would pretty much be the same with any modern president.

If you wrote something the least bet threatening, you'd probably get an FBI file.

If you wrote something really crazy, you'd get a visit from the federal fuzz.

Don't write anything, he isn't listening. Write it for yourself and keep it somewhere safe where Patriot Act Avengers can't find it.

In any event, your letter would be better placed with your congressperson--he/she needs to know its time for his/her rat azz to jump of the Bush ship, if he/she doesn't already know it.

You have the right to write to him. I think you'll have a much better chance of Mr Bush looking at your communication if it takes the form of a thin booklet. Include plenty of pictures illustrating your points and a simple guide to coloring them. A few 'join the dots' pictures would be a bonus for the President.

Why do you hate him? Do you know the man personally? What has he done to you? Yeah the war in Iraq sucks...yeah , the soldiers should come home. But they signed up for a job, the prez is trying to do the best he can, I hope!
You can express what's on your mind, but you don't have to be rude or crude about it. Be an adult, show some class. Especially if you're going to be a Marine.

When my daughter was 12, she wrote a scathing letter to president Bush outlining her disgust and unhappiness with the war in Iraq which at the time had just begun. We supported her completely. A few months later she recieved a large brown envelope in the mail with a white house return address. In it was a photocopy of a letter thanking her for her "interest in the white house" and a large 8X10 glossy of W himself. She was SO angry, and I'll bet the FBI has a file on her now.

I think the only thing that would happen is that you may not get the attention you are craving from Mr. Bush. They would most likely throw your letter out, and you would be left with your anger. I say...punch a pillow - much healthier. Why waste paper and ink - they won't care about your opinion. I'm sure they get all kinds of letters. Unless you outright threaten him...nada will happen.

I've sent him emails, along with Senamorons Arlen Specter and Robert Casey, demanding their resignations due to their incompetence, senility, and disturbingly out-of-touch voting record, respectively.

No one showed up at my door, and frankly, I don't care if they do. They can take me to whomever and I'll tell that jacka$$ the same damm thing.

EDIT: My ex-husband was a Marine, so spare me the "honorable" crap, ok.

I'm sure he gets a lot worse on a daily basis... I doubt that he would even see any hatemail as it would be screened and trashed by aides.

As long as you don't make any outright threats, you shouldn't be paranoid about any retribution.

I'm sure president bush gets plenty hate mail, this is why his got people that read it for him, i don't think he'll ever read it, so if it doesn't sounds terrorist like, im sure you will be fine,
