I am sorry about what your family has gone through. I'm ashamed of the lack of respect for life and integrity that the people in power have shown. I do appreciate what your father and brother have had to do and the sacrifices you all have made. I truly wish we (as a nation and as a planet of people) could all take the time to learn from history and not do this kind of thing over and over again. We need to be creative about solutions. Greed and violence are not the answer. Bush and his cronies set us back in terms of finding positive solutions to our world's problems.
And it's not just Bush. It's all the people who are helping Bush and his friends do what they planned as a 'what if' before he even took office.
I appreciate what you shared with us.

Sorry for the loss of your father.
The House and the Senate can de-fund the war at any time. So don't blame Bush. The Democrats are in charge.
Bush doesn't have oil, he made his millions with the Texas Rangers, a baseball team. He lost his but in oil. You have been listening to too many Liberals. They just don't want to take the blame.
Remember, Bush is the Executive Branch, the House is the one that agrees or disagrees to send troops or fund the money. Not Bush. So write your Senator, without the language, and ask them to de-fund the war and stop blaming Bush.

There are casualties in every war. Sorry about your dad. It's a volunteer army, and he knew the risks going in. You can't pick and choose the wars you will fight when you join up. And yes, since some cowardly liberal will ask, I am a veteran.
The Iraq war started early in Bush's first term. The Dems and American people had a chance to end the war 3 years ago by electing Kerry. Kerry was a poor candidate, and the people chose not to end the war. The American people should shut up.
There is another election next year. If the American people are dumb enough, they can elect a Democrat and end the war. They will condemn hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to death (including the people who have risked their lives to work with us.) They will also send a loud signal to the radical muslims, that Americans will surrender if they can make things difficult.
But America will decide in 2008. All the whining from libs is annoying. Shut up and vote.

He is a dumb *** idiotic asshole. He is too stupid to understand the casualties and the #'s. I hope all of those people who elected him in office for a 2nd term none the less, are happy. They have our troops bloodshed on their hands as much as he does. I am so sorry for you losing your dad. Maybe you'' have some comfort knowing that your dad was a brave man to go there and fight this war. All of these wanna be gangsta hardasses would run like a kitten chased by a dog, if they were called to go. I am sure he was a hero. he was always your hero and now he's my hero. He sacrificed his life so that you and I and your future children will be safer. I don't know if you believe in god or not, but if you do, pray for all of the other mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, daughters and sons that are serving over there. Fighting for their country. If you don't believe in god at least have good thoughts for them. Your dad would be proud.
Additional-
Do not listen to DSANTHONY!! It is people like him that voted Bush in there. how can you justify our people dying in order to save their people? 3,600 and counting!! Hey DS if you are so convinced that we should stay there, why don't you gather up your children, grandkids, sister and brothers, nieces and nephews and go over there and fight the war!! Then come back to this forum after one of YOUR loved ones have been killed and give us your opinon. Jerks like you would ensure that this generation and future generations stayed in combat. Their people did not run over here to protect us before 911 knowing damn well what they were about to do. No you shut up and don't vote!! Old geezer

I'm sorry about your loss.
I believe Bush will find his place in History sharing a dubious distinction w/ the likes of Hitler as one of the world"s leaders responsible for multi masses of unnecessary deaths.
He will also be a historical figure that will hated by the world that will compare him to Caligula by his absense of value for human life.
I don't think we are there for oil. Baby Bush's decision to invade Iraq was to get revenge on Hussein for attempting to assasinate his Dad, Daddy Bush.
This (obvious to me) conclusion is what will cause History's remembrance of him to be so disgraceful.
Think about it ... he's in power now ... any proof or possible testimony is bound to be covered now ... just wait, you'll see.
Who would disagree w/ me about History will remember him if we find out he acted on revenge?

I'm sorry you lost your father. I served there too. The President is not to blame for all that has happened. The president is the commander in chief and in that capacity he does inherit the responsibility for all that happens, good or bad.
Bless you and I hope you are able to learn more and gain wisdom.
The election of a new president will take place soon. If you are old enough, vote. Learn what you are voting for and make a conscious and informed decision.

I think Bush is a president who doesn't even know what he is doing. Our taxes are going up because Bush wants a war. We don't need to fight because we want oil. Ya, we need oil, but we don't have to control another country and kill their leader. I heard that Bush hires people that he knows before he met them in the White House. Everyday a lot of children, women, men, and american soldiers are killed in suicide or bombings, and etc. I don't like Bush running America.

It depends on how you look at it -
He knows exactly what his goal is in Iraq: to rape the land of natural resources .
He has no clue how to solve the thousands of economic, social, and religious problems he has caused...
Oh, and I totally sympathize with you. Although none of my relatives are currently employed in Iraq, I completely understand the furiosity you feel with the Bush government.
By the way, if you want to know (which will probably just depress but at least inform you) the cost of the war in Iraq, go to http://www.nationalpriorities.org/Cost-of-War/
