You can find some species in an ecosystem but you cannot find others. What is not present in that ecosystem is called and exotic species; when you put it into that ecosystem, that becomes an introduced species

It means a non-native species.
Australia, an isolated continent had problems with mice, rabbits, and now Cane Toads, all exotic species that had a negative effect on their new enviornment.
In the USA the Florida everglades are negatively affected by certain invasive exotic plants.

An introduced species is a plant or animal that is taken from it's natural growing/living area and transported to a place it wouldn't grow/live in if left to itself.
