i saw people say that they had best friends on Yahoo answers........how do you get friends (besides contacts) cuz you cant even talk to anyone besides questions!! do you understand that?

Absolutely! I am so much more fun on Answers than I do in my "real" world. I actually don't have any friends where I live and I am all out of family already so its just me and hubby with the kids. Its a quiet world around here so to come on here and socialize with my online friends is a great way to remain connected socially since there is no fun here to be had I do look forward to my contacts questions and answers. I laugh more online than I do in person at home. I go thru withdrawls when I am away from yahoo answers.. I will catch my self giggling to myself and then tell my hubby..What a great question that would make!! And then I have to whip out the Iphone and place my question before I forget. (You 'all don't think I sit on my butt all day on yahoo answer do you..I sold my second car to pay for my Iphone for the sole purpose of being able to get on yahoo answers while I run around--I think I'm sick in the head)

Hi Jessie, you can invite people to email you or to use Messenger if you want. Personally, I have only invited people to email me, coz my life is too hectic by far to be able to give people a quick response on Messenger (although I wish I could). Yeah, of course you can make good friends on- line, just like talking to someone in a coffee bar or shopping or whatever. At the end of the day, there is a real person behind every ID name on this site, and we all need friends. You just need to be very careful about which friends you choose to get closed to, but, at the same time, that is true of any socially interactive situation, be it on-line or not. You can talk to people, do you have your email at least enabled? The way I've met some great people here is thru email. You answer a question and maybe they like your answer or they have a question about your answer, they email you and it goes from there. I've made a few great friends here that way.

They can exchange emails, talk on 360 or IM, or maybe they have friends that they know who use Yahoo Answers.

When you make certain contacts and you find that you may have things in common in your answers, then one or the other makes contact...then e-mail...then messanger...so on and so forth. It may not always start in that order, but it happens none the less

i already knew my friends before i got on answers but if people like the way you answer questions and they want to be added to your profile and they e-mail you a lot you can become friends that way

You can send people instant messages, private emails and go their 360 pages if they have one.
