Im a big fan of classic rock but lately ive been trying to expand my musical tastes, and ive gotten into a little bit of rap. So far I know i like older forms of the music like NWA especially Dr. Dre, 2Pac and Notorious BIG, Snoop Dogg, stuff like that. But im pretty new to this whole rap thing so it would be really nice to get some suggestions on artists, albums, and songs i should check out that you think maybe id like.

thanks!

YES you are definatly on the right track! N.W.A, Dre, 2pac, Snoop all good! To go further ill give u some songs, artist and albums...

Dr. Dre obvs! The Chronic & 2001 **Detox when it comes out
*He's the best producer in the world (my opinion) so he's got beats all over the place so you might wanna look into that cuz his beats especially his early stuff (G-Funk is what it was named) is really good, its all over N.W.A, Ice cube, Snoop, Pac, The D.O.C. and many more

Snoop: 2 of Americaz most Wanted (ft.2pac)
Gin & Juice
Serial Killa
California Vacation
***** Please & ***** Please II
Who Am I (What's My Name)
Riders on the Storm (Fredwreck Remix)
Vato

Soldier Like Me (Return of the Soulja)

Do For Love
Hit Em Up

Eminem: *I have almost every Eminem song on my ipod! I'm a huge fan, he's a really gifted MC and hes the best freestyle battler so if you see a freestyle song by eminem dont be shy to download/buy/listen to it

Albums:
The Sim Shady LP
The Marshal Mathers LP
The Eminem Show
Encore
Curtain Call: The Hits - (new songs on there are: FACK, Shake That, and When I'm gone, the rest are his hits)

Get The Guns (underground Album some songs on there are from other albums)

D12 (which Eminem is a part of)
Albums: D12 World, Devil's Night,

**Because I live in Canada I'm gonna have to suggest Classified. He is kind of Underground but he is a very good produce and rapper. His albums are:
-Boy-Cott-In The Industry
-Hitch Hikin' Music
-Trial & Error
-Union Dues

Jay- Z
Albums: The Black Album, The Blueprint (he has more and maybe better albums/songs but those two albums i have and i like them. If You like him I highly encourage you to get more of his songs, he is a gifted rapper.

Yeah man tight. I am basically the same as you... I love classic rock and thanks to friends I was introduced to early rap and I love it too.

Make sure you check out Nas. Songs like "Doo Rags", "Just a Moment", "Dance", "One Mic" (my fav), "Black Zombies", "Ether" (vgood), "Destroy and Rebuild".

I won't list all the Nas songs I like because it would take forever but just look his **** up and you'll like alot of it.

Also you might like Hieroglyphics. They're not as consistently good as Nas but some songs to check out are "7 Sixes" (ownage), "Oakland Blackouts", "At the Helm", "Powers That Be", "Fantasy Island", "Classic", "Go the Limit", etc.

Also check out the Game. 'specially "Hustlers" (ft. Nas).

New song my friend gave me thats pretty chill is "Always Coming Home to You" by Atmosphere.

And then if you're like me you really enjoy the energy of something like Led Zeppelin... you might want to try some Xzibit. I only enjoy a couple of his songs but check out "Get Your Walk On", "Multiply" (fav), "Say My Name", "Alkaholik".

"Who Shot Ya" - Notorious BIG (must have in case you don't have it sorry to insult your intelligence if you do)

And then you might want to look into some of Lil' Wayne's music. It gets more commercial but some of his freestyles on top of other famous songs beats are fun to listen to.

Oh **** almost forgot. A must have song if you like The Clash is "Trigger" by Zion I and the Grouch. I love it. Also "Silly Puddy" by Zion I is amazing.

If you liked rock, i diont know if your into like metal or anything, but if you liked to get pumped up, get buck, get crunk, listen to three 6 mafia, the new stuff, and then try to find some of the old stuff, im certain you will be hooked. And since you like the old west coast stuff, try the Game, a good lyricist, and if you like to listen to diss tracks, the Game is by far the best.
