Oh boy, this is a tough, but good question! There are so many worthwhile causes. While I am a Christian and would support causes having to do with ministries, as a mother, I would also support causes for children. Supporting medicine, science and/or education are also very noble and worthwhile causes, as are causes to help end poverty and hunger. I guess however, that if I could only choose one organization to donate such a large sum of money to, then I would want to donate the money to animal rescue groups such as the ASPCA or to humane societies/animal shelters which euthanize animals when they are unable to find homes for them.

I believe that human causes are all worthwhile, but we humans have a voice and can speak for ourselves. Animals on the other hand, cannot speak for themselves and are often at the mercy of humans. Many animals suffer at the hands of people and are neglected, abused and abandoned. To support a cause which would help these animals would be a good use of money, in my book.

me, because I will make a foundation of Jeff who will happily do true good with your money rather than take it home as salery. (most organizations take 70% or more of the donated money as income to different "levels" of employment.
One thing about non profit. People still get paid as an expense of the company.
Many of these companies use a large ammount of resources in the act of collecting resources.
You don't have to believe that I would do a better job of giving away your money to good causes, like homeless people who would like to have decent nutrition and clothes and maybe a chance at getting back into society... or maybe some one who got cheated in life and got depressed at their failure and just needs a boost of somesort.
Maybe you can just do that yourself.
Let the giving be yours to celebrate.
Giving to people is a joyful thing.
Makes you feel rich and right inside.
Makes you feel unselfish and helpful.

The Felician Sisters in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. They have a food pantry that has saved me many times, and they don't ask for documentation of income (or lack of it). They just ask for $3 each week and they always have good food available for anyone who needs it. Their nuns wear the habit and Sister Genevieve is a living saint... they also have toys and clothing for youngsters and put on a free Thanksgiving dinner every year for anyone who wants to come.
