Apparently they don't have children. Who wants to worry if the toy they bought them for Christmas is going to cause them to be retarded? Or the fish that were cooked for their supper could poison them. There MUST be some restrictions. If its ok to leave us open to being poisoned with no recourse, why do we have to give up our rights where it comes to looking for terrorists. Where are we better off if 3,000 children loose their mental capabilities due to poison because of the desire for open trade or 3,000 people lose their lives in an attack every 8-9 years? I don't think we should trade with countries who could kill us because of their low standards.

Because it makes the rich richer, and the poor poorer.
In fact, Democrats are NOT denying the "greatness" of globalization. They are as much the party of the rich now as anyone.

yeah well who cares - maybe we should start outsourcing their jobs and see how they feel about it.

we're willing to waste a trillion dollars in iraq but not lift a finger to protect what is basically american.

but if you want me to be more technical then consider this.

if and when the american consumer looses their financial clout, no world economy will survive and we will have a worldwide depression the likes of which we have never seen.

see - i really want to protect the world - all of whom seem to want to sell their crap in america.

but i'd also like to know why tarrifs aren't even across the board.

when i ship a garment to a customer overseas they have to pay plenty because it's being imported from america - but when almost anyone wants to export TO america - there are no tarrifs in place.

kindly explain this.

tell that to Mattel, Dog food manufacturers, tooth paste manufacturers, Fisher Price and more...

globalization can be good, under certain circumstances... and can be bad...

a full out open market can be as dangerous as a completely closed one...

maybe the democrats know a few people that lost their jobs?
