Several factors come into play here: the age of both partners, parental consent, and what you mean by 'dating'.

First, if you are in seventh grade, and your partner is in high school, then yes, you are way too young. However, if your partner is within a year of your age, then it's more appropriate.

Are your parents okay with you taking up dating? Talk with your guardians about this. They are (usually) wise in these areas, and are most able to make the best decisions based upon the way that they want you to turn out.

What do you consider dating? (Please note that this is dependent upon the age factor). If you mean hanging out once a week, passing letters to each other in school, and talking on the phone, then yes. Go for it. It will allow you to better understand how the opposite sex works and thinks. However, if you mean 'dating' as in going out with this person on dates more than once a week, then I would say it is not appropriate. You should remember to abstain from any sexual behavior. You will appreciate your decision later on in life. You can lower sexual tension by double dating, or avoiding any situations where you would be pressured...such as riding alone in his or her car.

There are many factors that determine the level of appropriateness, but use your best judgment, and listen to your parents.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I had my first boyfriend in the sixth grade. We dated off and on from sixth to eighth grade. If you like the person then go for it. I do not think 7th graders should be having sex though, but if you remember to use protection. Birth control and condoms are the best protection against babies and diseases. Your parents may not like you dating someone at your age though.

Not to like date-date. That's a little young. To just go out that's fine.

Not at all. It's not real life, it's like one-week love, it's seriously lasts one week. Kiddies grow up way too fast, they don't enjoy life. They are only starting to know what is happening to their body and still little children.

If the dating leads to having sex then no.
If you mean getting driven to the movies by your parents and holding hands and writing notes to each other...then thats sweet and fine.

I think it is ok to date, but only to a certain extent. No heavy duty stuff of course. Just be careful.

no. 7th graders don't know what they are doing. They think they do but they have no idea. Still too immature.

No, I sure don't. You're too young. !5, and then probably still double dates. That's the rule for my kids.
