The Final Fantasy series. If you want 100% completion, expect to put in over 100 hours easily. Also, Dragon Quest 8 is definitely a long game, too. this is why I love RPGs, you definitely get your money's worth with such long gameplay. So, if you are interested, ranked in order of my preference:
1. Final Fantasy X
2. FFXII
3. Dragon Quest 8
Also, Dark Cloud 2 is an epic game. I logged about 80 hours.

Grand Theft Auto can go on forever, but the Final Fantasy games ensure very long play times, especially Final Fantasy X-2, which contains millions of things you can do but don't have to do, making 4 possible ending results and a completed score system based on secrets that you have discovered. Even with the Official Guide, it is very hard to get the Perfect Ending, as doing (or not doing) a certain thing in one chapter will most certainly end up with complicated and smart chain reactions!

The Grand Theft Auto Series is definitely the most for the money. I have never beaten even one of the games, theres just so much you can do.
Others include Okami, Godfather, Gran Turismo, and any RPG.
