salt water!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

I have a 12 Gallon JBJ Nano-Cube Tank that is just recently been started. The tank is set up with a heater, 12 pounds of livesand, 12 pounds of live rock, green striped mushrooms (25+ of them), and a Turbo Snail. It's been running about a month and a half and is ready to take fish.
my question is what kind of fish should i put in it that are really cool?????
like a really sweet looking fish.
something really different.

exotic looking fishes tend not to be small( that is just in general in fishkeeping)

i personally for my SW like clown fish(false peclica)

But for really cool, trylooking at razor fish or shrimp fish as some may call them.

12 gallons isnt really enough but you can get by. You may need to change the set-up of the tank as they like deep tanks with alot of room.

They dont tend to get really big, but they may in the end need a 55 gallon.

They are unique as they swim verticle and hunt like that. hunting smaller fish and swimming down and eatten them,

Again might be alittle large, but small ones you can getawaay with in a 12.

Even a 12 gallon is small for a single clownfish once you consider the volume taken up by the rock and sand. I would look into fish like a clown, neon, or shrimp goby, and maybe one of the species of firefish.

You could (and probably should) stock some additional snails for algae control. Each species differs in what types of algae they'll eat, so the more variety the better. I would advise staying away from Astreas (they can't right themselves if they fall, so they are more likely to die if not found) and Margaritas (prefer cooler water). Some others to get would be trochus, nerite, and nassarius snails. A pair of peppermint shrimp or cleaner shrimp could be added, also some hermit crabs (blue-legged or scarlet), and/or a small sea cucumber.

I've also done some small tanks as invert-only tanks, although you need to be cautious mixing some inverts with polyps.

Sounds like a cool set-up. I have a 12 gallon two. Some sweet fish that are reef safe would be:
1. Green Mandrin Dragonet.
2. Spotted Mandrin Dragonet
3. Green, Yellow, Rusty, Black Clown Goby
4. Dottyback
5. Cleaner Shrimp (Great for algae eaters)
6. Camel Shrimp
7. Scooter Blenny
8. Firefish
9. Emerald Crab (Great for algea eaters two)
10. Perculla Clown Fish
Great fish for you tank set up!

I have a 10 gallon and i like the blue and yellow tail damsels clown. i also have a yellow headed jaw fish. A chocolate chip starfish and a blue lynka starfish. the prob with smaller tanks is you have to do more frequent water changes so your nitrates don't build up.
