From the 70s I love Led Zeppelin, Cream, Black Sabbath, etc. As far as the 80s nothing beats HAIR Metal and 80s alternative. Great Question!!!

First & foremost, Led Zepplin.
I also like:
Queen
The Rolling Stone
The Kinks
Ted Nugent
Bad Company
Alice Cooper
Pink Floyd
Deep Purple
Frank Zappa & the Mother's of Invention
The Doors
& I also LOVE Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I like solo John Lennon from the 70's, I wasn't overly crazy about The Beatles, mainly because I don't like Paul Mc Cartney's sound or style but I like John Lennon in his solo career. I thought The Kinks were better than The Beatles personally & I'm probably going to get a billion thumbs down for saying that.

HEART This was a monster of a band during the 70’s and mid 80’s. With Heart’s original line up, only a few could clam to have ever had there musical talent. The Queen of rock, Ann Wilson on Lead Vocals, Michael Derosier one of the best drummers ever slamming down the sticks, Steve Fossen playing bass and three of the most underrated guitar players of all time Nancy Wilson, Roger Fisher and Howard Leese strumming the strings. These boys and girls could play with the best of them and if they would have been able to stay together they would have easily dominated rock music well into the 21st century. Like I said “ A monster of a Band”.
