Could anyone say me what is the downloading speed and uploading speed in Usa.In INDIA the home usage modem is "256 kbs modem and its downloding speed is 30 to 40 kbs/sec And maxium available modem for home usage is 550 kbs modem.And its downloading speed is 60 to 70 kbs/sec.In usa normally what kind of modem most people uses and what is its downloading speed.And what is the maxium "Kbs modem" available. What is the downloading speed in of it in USA.PLEAASE anyone say me?????????

Some americans have dial up like in India, but high speed connections are all the rage in America right now.
Im talking about 5 mb or higher

I think you're asking what the average USA internet connection speed is? Quite simply, it varies. Most cable providers provide at least 3Mb download and 256k upload whereas most DSL providers offer a minimum of 760Kb upload and 1.5Mb download. I'm currently using a fiber through the local phone company which has 15Mb down and 7.5Mb upload. It really just depends on what is available and how much you want to pay.

well the dial-up speed is 56K, then there is DSL which goes from 512k, 728k,1.5meg ,3meg,4meg,5meg speed then i have cable whish is 5 megs and also 10 megs of download . the fastest in the usa is 200meg which is vial fiber optics or fios by Verizon.
