have big marks on them to show their parents were married when the kids were born?
I am a single mom and divorced. I am sick of people who assume I had my kids out of wedlock. I will not live with a man I'm not married to because I have morals so there is no man in my household. Why do I have to suffer because of stereotypes about single moms?

Some of you are right. Some of you are wrong. Schools see birth certificates but still there is problems with stereotyping there...The absence of a new husband for me and my kids is a good thing..... Birth certificates with just a maiden name for mother no longer un-stigmatize single moms but do cause problems for divorced moms sometimes.....We are no longer in the 50's, do all single moms have to be treated the same even when they have different reasons for being single?
