Well, you're a lucky kid if your dad is willing to pass a TT on to you. It's a fun car to drive and great looking on the inside and outside (I am a current Audi owner so I am biased on this).

That said, it's probably not the most ideal car for a young driver, for a number of reasons. Audis are not cars that you can abuse or neglect in terms of regular maintenance, and tend not to be as reliable like your garden variety Honda Accord or Civic. They can be ruinously expensive to service and fix. Turbo engines are very, very sensitive to abuse - oil changes cannot be neglected.

It will also cost more to fix bumps and dings that inevitably come with the normal wear and tear of driving.

Since the TT is considered a high performance sports car, insurance rates will be high for that. And if you're a first time driver/teen/under the age of 25, the insurance rates will be REALLY high.

I don't know what the financial arrangements will be with you and your parents, but if you're going to be responsible for maintaining and servicing it, it's going to take a lot of money to keep that car running.

An Audi TT isn't the greatest idea for a car to drive at the age of 15, trust me and it's been proven within your first 2 years your likely to get into aleast 1 fender-bender or accident. it happened to me when I had my Audi A6 and I was 18. Take it out on the weekends because it sure isn't one of those cars that last forever once you put to many miles on it.

Sure it is a cool car, but to be honest no, not a a good car for a first time driver. Now if you are responsible and will not get peer-pressured into speeding and driving hard, then maybe. But still physics and statistics can not be ignored.
1. A smaller faster car is more dangerous for anyone, much less a new driver.
2. In any accident the mass of the car has an impact on safety, ie the smaller the car the higher the risk. Regardless of fault, the small car has more risk.
3. Young drivers have much higher accident rates, even drivers who have no previous tickets, are responsible and are not at fault.
Talk to your dad. Look into a Saab or Volvo s40 4 cyclinder. More room, safer, sits higher, better in rain or snow, etc.

It is a good first car if you are good at driving. But it isnt good for a beginner because that is a really costly machine to just wreck out of nowwhere.... Insurance will be a killer but these days it ialways is. I would alwys check your options before just taking it....
