This new song .. i mean, i give it credit for not being stupid non musical hip hop rap.. but still it's really repetitive. The music doesnt have any changes. it's just the normal part and the chorus. and he keeps repeteing it. These kind of songs resemble the stupidity of rap and hip hop in MTV.. which is that they repeat the dumb same thing with no change. Here is what i don't get, why MTV keeps pushing this type of music( mostly rap and hip hop) as if they were SUPER CREATIONS..when in reality there is no creativity.. many times they are ripped off from other stuff or just a repetitive thing which they made in 2 seconds

Well, then stop watching MTV and listening to the radio. Find good songs on Myspace or Soundclick from unsigned artists with potential. I stopped listening to the radio and watching MTV a long time ago, the more you support them, the more whack songs are gonna come out.

It's not just in hip-hop music on MTV. Do you think that the rock bands on MTV aren't repetitive with their songs as well? And the reason that MTV pushes all of this is because it SELLS. They target a massive chunk of the teenage audience. And if you think you can beat these advertisers in resisting them and their messages, believe me, you haven't seen anything yet. You might know what's up with MTV, or possibly even Viacom, but you don't know how good these people are. Trust me, they will ALWAYS be one step ahead of you.

And what's with hating on Clear Channel Communications? The most they ever owned was about 40% of the stations in the US, but they sold off many of them. Can you even name 3 other media companies in the radio world?

its basically whoever is requesting it via radio or mtv, the music industry allows songs to be made such as "beautiful girls" and "lip gloss" because they are catchy. These songs are not lyrically sophiscated or have a meaning but they get high on the billboard charts, which means the songs are making money!

Its because they are pretty much forced to play the "new" and "popular" music. The problem is the people who are determining the qualifications of what is "new" and "popular" It's mostly the record companies. I know that for example with public radio stations, most will not ever play a requested song, unless it is during a specific time designated for requests. They are all forced to play from predetermined play lists created by their parent companies, most of which in the states are owned by the Clear Channel Corporation.

It's called Pay-For-Play (legal payola). Money talks; if record companies give radio stations and TV networks hundreds of thousands of dollars, you will hear the song (that they are trying to push) over and over again. Record companies basically pay radio and TV stations to turn their songs into a hit. It's BS and it's part of the business. That goes for every genre of music (including rock).

They stole a beat from a song and put it in there, I forgot what the song is called, but I know they did it. MTV does it to promote their music so they can sell millions of albums, even the worst ones.

Ya he completely ripped of a classic, no wonder people like it, but i think they play it because most people like it, I hate it but that majority controls whats popular so thats what the radio plays. But i mean what are they gonna play? name some good songs that have been released lately.... theres not a good variety chose from! If I had it my way all that wud play is 2pac, Dre, Snoop, N.W.A, and Eminem, but its not my or your decision.
