Do NOT get a timeshare!

you can either splurge to buy your own condo, or rent your own every time.

Basically at any timeshare you can get either, 1 week at on peak season every other year OR 2 weeks off-season every year for about 15,000 anually.
I guess this wouldnt be a bad price...if you were staying at a 5-star resort. But sure the places are nice, but you can ultimately save 5 grand a year by just renting some out.

They can be, but never buy one from a resort direct. The reason is they will sell you the time share for $15k-$45k or more. Most of this goes to profit for the developer aqnd the salespeople, and you still have to pay the taxes and annual fees.

A better way is to buy them on the secondary market. Got to eBay or many other "timeshare resale" sites and you can purchase the exact same timeshare but for anywhere from $500-$2k. The reason is many time share owners simply find they don't use the timeshare enough to make it worth their while. So they sell it so they don't get hit for the annual fees. Evrything else is the same, you just don't pay the thousands in commissions.

Good luck

You can't be serious. Timeshares are almost impossible to sell, and many times can't even be GIVEN away, because no one wants to assume the maintenance costs which go along with them.

If you REALLY want a timeshare, you can buy them on the 'used market' for around 25% or less of what the original owner paid.

I'd wait six months or so until the glow of the vacation wears off before deciding. But only you can decide whether it's worth spending your money on it. Be aware that timeshares are usually very hard to resell.

No, all the additional fees that come with timeshares are not worth it.
