Texas girls make big ones with flowers, ribbons, signs, glitter, dolls! even the guys were garters around there arms, with the same deocorations! the girls give them to the guys! is this just a Texas tradition?

I went to high school in South Texas and know exactly what you're talking about. With all the little charms on them, bells, and everything. I'll be curious to see the answers to your question. I never thought about it before, but I don't think high school football is as big a deal in some parts of the country as it is here.

Must be. Everywhere else I know of, the girls wear a small corsage, usually a wrist one, and the guys have a small boutonniere, but nothing over the top for either of them. And no mums - the girls' are usually made from a rose, orchid, or lily or something similar, and the guy's is a rosebud.

i grew up in a small town in Texas and i always remembered mums at the football games.i still have the ribbons from ,mine and that was 20 years ago.
