Lately I never see her eat. If she does, it's a couple pieces of fruit.
We're in marching band and practice for eleven hours a day. She doesn't eat anything and starts to feel dizzy constantly.

The other day it was 100 degrees outside and we were rehearsing. People shoes were melting for christs sake!
But she was out there in a hoodie.
It scared me. :/

When I asked her about it she attacked me saying this,
"Why does everyone always think something wrong with me!?
I wasn't hot, and I like hoodies.
They actually cool you abit because all your sweat stays in the hoodie and sweat is cold.
And I do not actually have freakin' eating disorder.
And it just sucks when people acuse me of it.
D:<"

I didn't mention an eating disorder.

Am I just being paranoid?

yes something is wrong with your friend, she might have an eating disorder, or she might have something else going on in her life that is bad, i dont know but i would talk to your parents or a trusted adult about it i know it is hard but it is the best thing for your friend, you already seem like a good friend by worrying about her but she needs you to help her, otherwise she will get worse

I have a 16 yr old daughter and she was chubby one day she just started watching what she ate and started losing baby fat I asked her if there was a problem and she blew up on me and said why is everyone saying that I must have a eating disorder just because I am losing wait see I am anorexic not a practicing one anymore but that was my first thought too and when you change your eating habits you sometimes get dizzy why not ask her if there is anything bothering her that you can help with. if you are close friends that might just be what she is waiting for and if there is a problem than try to get help maybe nobody has asked just assumed Its never paranoid when you are worried about a friend.

No, honey you are not being paranoid. I think you are being a good friend. Many times people with eating disorders are very defensive about it. Hence, your friend saying that she was being "accused" of having one. Take these questions into consideration...has she lost weight lately? does her hair look thin and brittle? does her complexion look healthy? is she the perfectionist type? If you spend a lot of time with her and notice that she isn't eating, then she might fall into the category of having an eating disorder. Also, if she isn't eating, it would help explain her jumping all over you. There's nothing that makes me more irritable than being really hungry. If you are feeling concerned, it might be a good idea to talk to one of her parents. Be prepared for her to be mad at you. But, remember that her well being is your concern. If you can't muster up the strength to talk to her parents face to face, maybe you could write them an anonymous letter describing why you are concerned. These are just ideas. Good luck, and keep being a good friend. Mogley72

Wow! Yes she does have a problem. I know this cause my sister suffers from anorexia and bulimia and she always used to have a sweatshirt and or a heavy jacket to hide how skinny she was. They will say something to convince you that nothing is wrong with them to them nothing is wrong with them except the fact that they think they are fat. If i were you even though it may get her to dislike you but i would tell her parents. She'll thank you for it later. She needs help! Plz make sure to tell an adult and dont just keep it to your self this is actually very life threatening i know this cause my sister ended up in the hospital like 7 times for here passing out and all and because she was so skinny. Tell an adult. She thinks she has no problem but she sounds like she does. She needs professional help my sister she would say that she would gain wait and during the time we said ok we'll give you so much time and then we would just pass out cause of her potassium got so low. It took around 3 treatment centers to get her better but she stills has issues and is going to have to deal with it the rest of her life. I hope this helps.

Well i dont know if she does or not because i dont know her
but a year ago i became sick and stayed at home alot and barely ate because i was so sick, it wasnt anything to do with an eating disorder, but me being skinny people automatically assumed it was, now a year later, im much better but i still cant eat as much as id like to, i would if i could.. but i cant, and sometime i cant explain to everyone why i cant eat all the time, im still skinny and im sure people still expect it, but sometimes theres many other reasons why someone cant eat, its not always eating disorders.

You need to tell an adult like her parents or a school psychologist. I can't say for sure, but sounds like she needs help. The fact that she even brought up the eating thing when you were wondering why somebody would wear a hoodie when people are killing over from the heat.

annorexia is a VERY dangerous disease. i am i a surviver of this disease. let me just tell you that it does sound like she has it. sit down with her and have a talk with her. remind her how beautiful she is and how she doesnt need to do that to herself. she could end up in the hospital. its not smart at all. if you want a living friend then you should do that. if it doesnt work tell a school counsler or health teacher.

GOOD LUCK!

i would follow your hunch about eating disorder unfortunately-- don't press issue with your friend to much but let her know you are concerned talk with a guidence counselor your parents her parents anorexics hide under big baggy clothes they (anorexics ) have a distorted image of themselves no matter what they (anorexics) always look fat to themselves remeber to stay at your friends side what she is going threw is horrible she needs to learn to love and accept herself to start healing is she a perfectionist?? some anorexics are please help her seek out help good luck i don't think you are paranoid --concerned because you care

Talk to her parents... I think something might be seriously wrong.... When one of my friends did that she had a panic attack when someone called her fat as a joke and she practically died.
