spank (more like beat.....with Hot Wheels race tracks, belts, you name it) Sometimes I'd be awakened in the middle of the night by my mother as she beat the $hit out of me because she was drunk, etc.
I myself did not spank my daughter, who is not 25 and says she thinks she deserved a smack or two (but I'm still glad I didn't hit her).

No, my mother beat us with belts, branches with thorns, baseball bats, and grabbed our arms and threw us against the opposite wall. She'd make us stand on tippee-toe with only our noses against the wall for an hour at a time. She'd lock us in the cold, dank basement for half the day as punishment. She'd tell us what worthless little shits we were and the spawn of Satan. That's not the half of it, either. When my mother found out my oldest brother was gay she nearly killed him. She destroyed half of the living room beating him up.
I wish she would have only spanked, scolded, or put us in a time out. That would have been Heaven.

my parents scolded me alot, tried to put me in time out, and when that didn't work, I was spanked.

Spanked (not beaten) or just told to stay on my bed in my room with the door open (smart parents). I learned quickly though. Never really grounded.

Ahehe.. kiddin'! Of course I was spanked as a child! It's negative reinforcement. This is how a child links a certain act to punishment however, side effects may happen such as the child may avoid getting punished than stopping the act or get angry to who ever punsihed him.

Spanked and yelled at. When you look back at it, it's kinda funny. They hit you in each time for each word. For example "Why (spank) did (spank) You (spank) do (spank) that (Big spank)?!"

Usually a spank, or using any object close enough. I swear my grandma's shoe could turn corners. And those wooden spoons...damn.

Usually when I disobeyed my parents at home, I was yelled at or placed in time out. When I was really bad I was spanked.
If I acted up in public, my parents dragged me out and left, THEN punished me.
So unlike parents these days...
