Hi Rena,
What a lovely way to describe conflict outside and within our personalities. Yes I agree. I am a peaceful person and often act as mediator. Because I am at peace within myself (within being the operative word, outside everyone experiences disagreements and arguments) it is easier for me to listen and respond without becoming defensive.

Yes, without calmness and peace within yourself, there's no hope. It allows you to observe, and truly listen, without reaction - and to consider your responses and make them appropriate. George Bush, in his role as cowboy (I note the gunslinger crouch!) couldn't even wait peacefully for an answer to his question "Why do they hate us". We were done for from that moment, not from the fall of the towers.
