The House of representatives shifted $16 Billion In Tax Breaks From Big Oil To Renewable energy proyects. Like wind and solar power proyects.
That is right, when they were in power, the republicans had given big oil billions in tax credits. That was at the time when the big oil companies were making record profits.
Well today, the representatives of the people took those gifts away and put the money to work for all of us.

It's about time. I've had enough of corporate freedoms and advantages. It's time we put those credits to good use.

Plus, this goes to show that the Democrats are doing what they promised. They promised change, and that's what they're doing; changing things.

Ahh, don't be fooled. I'm all for renewables, but a better plan would be to simply rework the tax code to phase out the mortgage interest deduction and replace it with an equivilant alternate energy deduction. This would give people an incentive to afford solar, wind, and energy efficient technologies, which in turn would help increase demand. The oil companies would simply follow the money.

ROFLMAO!!!! HAHA, the peoples reps... whew hew, that is so funny... your not joking are you? Do you actually think the republicans were the first to put in tax credits? Do you actually believe that Kennedy is at home, balancing his check book this weekend, trying to make ends meet? Oh yeah, John Kerry was broke once. And Hilary, she had to fight her way up the ladder of her law firm. These are the peoples reps? Tax credits are given to not just oil firms, but also to Toyota, and Heinz ketchup. Your Senators and Reps take care of the deep pockets that take of them, then they roll up their sleeves and try to look like they actually know how to work for a living. Most of them have never held a real job, or produced anything useful. The peoples reps, ha... has a communist sound to it, doesn't it...

I'm sure the big oil companies will just pony up the cash and not raise prices to us. I also hope Santa Claus will be the next president.

Right, so don't complain when the cost of gas gets even higher than it is now. The dumbocrants promised to do something about the high cost if they were elected, looks like they kept their promise, it will get even higher.

By the way, it isn't just republicans that are BIG OIL

It's a great idea except...

...they just publicly told the Islamic countries we are trying to opt out big-time (prices are going to go up!), and...

...they took it from companies who were given it to keep prices down (prices are going to go up!).

Fairly foolish. They should have done it quietly, like President Bush was doing. Instead they went for political points.
