You are in line at a store, having a sensitive conversation with someone else. I am the customer behind you and I appear to be listening to music on my mp3 player but later found I recorded your entire conversation because your friends have copies of the audio file and hired me to follow you!

And yes I know, its illegal to record audio without permission. Just being curious :P

My rule of thumb for "sensitive topics" is this: DON'T discuss them in line at the grocery store.

And my rule of thumb for "secrets" is the same as Ben Franklin's: Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.

In other words, If I am stupid enough to share a confidence in a very public place such as a grocery store line, then I have to accept the consequences that the world may have been listening in.

So, chances are, if you accidentally recorded my whole conversation, you got nothing more than the general chit chat of two people killing time while waiting for the line to move. Good luck staying awake while you search for juicy, top secret information...

I wouldn't be too mad because any conversation I have in a public isn't too much of blackmail material. I don't think you would followed me into my own house and record converations, but if you did, I would offer you something to drink and swipe the tape. Or sue you.
