The ONLY way your taxes increased was due to making more money - I hope you sent Bush a thank you card for this robust economy which allowed to make more money - Nothing like a little dishonesty to try to make a point among the sheeples.

Careless with money - let's see, the largest increase in education spending in history and the largest increase in entitlement programs. Hmmmm, while I might agree that the socialists have destroyed a once OK public education system, granny still needs her meds.

Conan-unless you live on federal property, your taxes are controlled by the state you live in.
Please tell me about the tax shift - I need a good laugh.

I think if people knew how many folks the big bad IRS lets get away with not paying their taxes there would be an armed revolt in this country. I am talking about people who owe delinquent taxes and can pay most or all of the debt and the IRS does not pursue it. I happens because the IRS can easily keep the public in the dark, and for other reasons I am too tired of talking about. e.g. I raised this issue with IRS Commissioner Rosotti in 2001, he said he didn't believe it was happening, I said i have actuall cases at my desk to prove what i say is true. He turned and walked away. Good night and good luck.

My family saved around 350 a year. Not much. But 350 more than I ever got from a liberal tax and spender. I would love to see the democrats tax cut plan that would not favor the rich. Yeah right, tax cut. How silly to even consider that. The pretty boy wants to tax the working class even more to end poverty for the lazy class. That'll work I bet.

I remember we all were supposed to get some kind of check in the mail. We never got one, although by all accounts we were supposed to. And we never bothered to try and get it either because we didn't approve of the whole thing and we felt sick that Bush was being so careless with money. In other venues I never saw any tax decreases.
As many people have pointed out, our taxes is going to increase substantially and over a long long period of time to pay for all of the debt that G.W. got us into with this war that he started in order to profit himself and his friends.
Decrease in taxes? We're beholden to China and other loan holders. A few people are getting rich from the war and the rest of us are going to pay for a long time for their windfall. The ironic thing is that the richer and more powerful Bush's friends get, the more vulnerable we are to them. Sigh.
You're obviously intelligent. Show it. Sarcastic comments to the people who answered your question stop the conversation, but sarcasm doesn't make its user right. Researchers have concluded that the use of sarcasm can become an addiction because of the hormones it produces. It's a power tool but it is not an intelligent response.

Why would I want to return any of the money that was saved due to tax cuts? It was my money to start with. Since Bush has been President I have made over $700,000 in salary, stock options and bonuses, I made under $300,000 with Clinton in office and my taxes in percentage of income is lower now than they were prior to 2001.

Didn't want to have it spent on a war - and certainly I do not agree that I should pay extra taxes for being able to feel an emotion called compassion.
Instead I donated it to charity and to defeating the Republican party. Seems it is going to work.

Bush didn't really cut our taxes - he borrowed so much that he just sent them to the future for us to pay later.

My taxes did not decrease..... they increased -- so the money that I "gave" to the treasury wasn't being returned....
Same goes for a lot of people I worked with.

I'm sure they donated it to their favorite charity, since they are so concerned about others.
Probably not. When I asked a liberal friend why didn't she just give to the poor instead of using tax money, she said "I work hard for my money!"

The tax cut I got was undetectable. In fact, if you guys didn't keep talking about it, I wouldn't have realized there was one.
