If you are in the US:
Do a Google search by typing in the county name, and type in either "GIS" or "tax maps". Some counties have tax info online where you can go to the county GIS map site, type in the address of a property, and see the owner's name. Sometimes you can also view related deed/tax records, actual pictures of houses, aerial shots and such. Works great if you're investigating someone : )
If the county where the property is located does not have online tax info, you'll have to go down to your county courthouse and look it up in the public records.
Good luck!

Go to town hall..all those records are public. Some cities have this info online. I can look up who owns a property through the Tax assessors office online.

You go to the land office of the county in which the property is owned/registered and look to see who holds title/deed to the property.

Go to your local county clerk's office, and look up the address, or block & lot number, if available. They will have records of the true owner there.
Hope this helps...
