Answer your question with a question. If you were being followed by a camera all day, knowing that everyone you know will see it the next night, would everything you do or say be the same? Or do you think perhaps you would do a little acting (scripting in your mind) to make your existence a little more ratings worthy?

The only reality show I watch is Little People in a Big World: The Roloff Family.

It doesn't appear scripted to me.

Meaning, the writers say, the shows are written. They have scripts, called "paper cuts" in the trade. Jokes are penned for hosts, banter for judges. Plot points and narrative arcs are developed. In some cases, lines are fed directly to contestants. (The writers do not claim that the voting is rigged.)
