electricity bills?

how can i save up for energy bills and stuff its really hot and my mom wont turn on the air conditioner because were not doing well wit money?? but it is way too hot for her and me as for wen she comes home from work

A good way to keep the house from getting too hot in the first place is to shut all the blinds and curtains during the day. The natural sunlight shining in the windows will raise the temp in your house really quickly so if you block it out - it will naturally stay cooler.

Turn off any electricity not needed when no one is home. Only electric really needed is refrigerator and freezer.Switch light bulbs to the newest type. shut off television when not watching. Looking around for anything thats plugged in and your not using, unplug it. Most everything
uses electric when it is shut off and plugged in. Good luckto you both.
If you dont use your air conditioner for long periods of time it wont work well when you do turn it on.

One of the best ways to help with heat in a home when it's hot outside is to invest in ceiling fans. Change the overhead lights to fans that have lights attached to them.

Another is to get a thermostat that is programmable. It can be set for 'wake, sleep, leave, arrive.' I put mine on 74 during the daylight hours and at 11pm I have it cut down automatically to 76. At 6am it automatically comes on when the temp reaches 75, since I have it set at 74 on the 'wake' setting.

Close the curtains if shears or see through hang up blankets on windows to keep out sunlight If you have a clothes line use it! Save your cans both pop and soup cans take them to recycler scrap yard and get paid!! Good Luck
