Put the capsle in your mouth and follow it with a full mouth of water (kinda cold) the capsule will float in the mouth full of water and as you swallow you won't even know you are swallowing the capsule. Then drink more gulps of water to dilute the capsule in your stomack (8 oz at least).
Think about just drinking a gulp of water and NOT about the capsule being there. It is a mental thing. You can't swallow it because you know it's there.
Try it ~ it worked for me. I had trouble but I have to take 2 capsules every day and this was the easiest way I came up with to take them. It works every time.

I have trouble swallowing anything bigger than a small birth control pill or sudafed.
I had to take an antibiotic last week, and there was no liquid version available. In order to take the capsule I had to open it up and put it in some applesauce.
The first few times it will make the applesauce taste DISGUSTING, no bones about it. Eventually you get used to the taste. When it tastes horrible, try a little dab of honey on your tongue to quench the nasty part.

Capsules in general are easy to swallow and since it's an unknown capsule with unknown size and shape, other options are assumed, by me, to be unavailable.
My dog took his pill with ease. I easily take 20 pills/day and many at one time.
Coventional:
Drink some water. Say 2 Oz. Put pill in hand and propel it toward the back of the mouth. You don't want it to stick to your tongue. Follow it very quickly with another 2 oz of water.
Unconventional:
Hide it in applesauce or pudding on a spoon. Insert into mouth. swallow. Chase with water.

I find it easier to swallow some pills with a thicker liquid. I will use milk, buttermilk (OK, so it's not for everyone, but check out my choice of pic's here) or juice. If that doesn't work there are protein powers that make a thick drink almost like a milkshake they are good too. You wouldn't need much. This is what I do when water and thinner liquids just don't work.

You have phobia for swallowing little objects like pill or capsule? The more advance way is to see a phychiatrist to go back to your previous life to see what caused the phobia and get rid of that fear. The more traditional way is to open up the capsule and swallow the content only.

When I was younger I would put the pill in some bread and then chew it up a little then swallow it. Believe me it takes time to be able to swallow a pill by itself because you feel like your going to get sick, don't you?
You can try it with a small piece of bread or maybe with some milk. Good luck hun :)

I have found that if the pill is (like my Lortab or zanax or my other yechhy nasty pills) dry, and seems to stick in my mouth and has a beyond nasty taste- I use a good swig of hot milk first, throw the pill to the back of my mouth and take another really good gulp of the hot milk.
Capsules are better taken with something cold-try something that will act as a lubricant, like cold milk, sweet tea, koolaide or that sports drink that rehydrates (can't remember the name) but its most usual color is light green. Also cola is good...anything cold that will lubricate and send the pill on its way down.
Just take a good swig of something cold pop the pill to the back and take another swig until it goes down.
I have to take pills that would gag a horse!
Small candles? What? Huh?

Open the capsule up unless it is a timed released med and put it in sauce, yogurt or ice cream and take it this way. Other wise put the entire capsule or pill in sauce and swallow it all down at once.

If the pill is a capsule, then tilt your head forward with your chin to your chest. This should cause the pill to float to the back of your throat. Then, just swallow. That's how i learned to take them.

Put the pill on your tongue, and take a big swallow of water. It will go down with no difficulty. That's how I taught my son to do it when he was a little boy, and he never knew he was "supposed" to have trouble swallowing pills ;-)
