bridesmaid dresses are always over the top and hideous...there must be a reason..maybe its written in the books or something...lol

Maybe your friends have really bad taste. The two weddings I was in the dresses were lovely and tasteful. My sister picked out these dark green velvet dresses with emperess waists and cap sleeves. They were very tasteful and the style looked good on all three of us...skinny and not so skinny alike. My best friend's wedding she picked peach satan halter neck dresses with just a bit of lace embrodery around the top. They were very cute for spring. Maybe you should tell your friends (as nicely as you can) that the dresses are tacky. Maybe they really don't know.

So, the bridesmaid won't look better than the bride. To me I think that is why most women don't like to be apart of a the bridal party. Everybody should look good.

OMG I know what you mean. My HS best friend picked these long skinny yellow disco looking dresses. Well, I'm just under 5' and was pregnant at the time, so needless to say it didn't look right at all on me!

I don't think I did (I thought they were pretty, but they could have hated them and not said a word). They last two weddings I was in we got to pick out our own dresses - they just had to be the same color.
