Why is it so many people are concerned about Arnold running? He can't be president right? To be president, besides being 35 years old, you have to be born in the US and lived here for 14 years or more. So there's no way he can be president right? God, what kind of people would elect him? Body building, acting, then president! Ugh. Please say that this can't happen

Yeah I knew Regean was an actor too, but he still sucked as president. Might have been before my time, but still...

And it is fair to have the president a natural born citizen, it makes plenty of sense than having a naturalized citizen whose been here for X amount of years

Who exactly are you talking about that's worried? Here's the US Constitution in black and white:

"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States."

And what's your problem with actors? What are you, a rocket surgeon? Have some respect, missy.

As a Californian, I can say that he got off to a rocky start, but he's actually been better since his special election (where all of his initiatives failed). He works with the Democratic majority in Sacramento because, well, he has to.

This goes beyond Arnold, though. The antiquated rule of having to be born in the US needs to be changed, not for Arnold but changed for everyone else. Someone can be born in another country, immigrate to the US right after, and NEVER have the chance of becoming President of the US? It seems wrong and against American ideals. Why not simply make a requirement that someone has to be a US citizen for a certain amount of time? 35 years? 25? How long does someone have to be here to be an American?

We have an answer from a Californian about Arnold as a Governor. Let's just see what we have running, on the Democratic side the leaders are Liberal and Ultra Liberals, and on the Republican side we have (Heck who knows, a bunch of relative unknowns and one former member of the Keating 7 before they politicized it down to 5. What is wrong with the Governator, he is relatively Conservative and is married to a woman whose family are historic Liberals. He is well known and well liked, a thoughtful individual and appears to have the best interest of the people at heart. Well the last part of that statement almost surely would eliminate him from the race even if the Constitution didn't. I am a retired member of the military and a long time conservative, but right now based on the people running I would have to say I am leaning on voting for Barack (or however he spells his name). No ladies I didn't say I wouldn't vote for a woman. I would have voted for Elizabeth Dole but the wrong Dole ran, and I would vote for Condalesa Rice, but she like Arnold has more sense than to subjugate their-selves to the scrutiny of a Presidential Election. As for Arnold running for President, I say sure amend the rules and let him run, I bet he wouldn't touch that opportunity with two 10 ft. Poles....

As far as the acting part, that shouldn't be a deterrent... Ronald Reagan was also an actor.

The only important thing here is that he was not born in America. So, no, he cannot run for president.

His had to have been born here so that knocks him out 100 percent.

He has to have been born here, OR his parents had to have been American citizens when he was born.

So, no, it can't happen. Just shooting that fact out there.
