Oh, it's the American way to pull for the underdog. I always do unless my team is the favorite, or the favorite is potentially going to make history with the win.

i guess it would depend on what 'sport' you are talking about. if your favorite team is not playing then i think people tend to bet on the underdog. as far a horse racing ---same could apply; if they have lucky horse, number, etc that is who they bet first, if not many will take the long shot for the pay off.

I go with my favorite. Sometimes it's the underdog but sometimes it's not. I don't jump on the bandwagon though.
