they sell rolls of crossstich fabric. if you put that behind the towel and stich your initials it turns out really great. i did it with flowers on a skirt and it looked like it was made that way.

The fanciest way will be to find someone who owns an embroidery machine, and then they can have you pick out a font and colors from their selection.

2nd best would be to trace on the initials in pencil and hand-embroider - but it takes a long time!

machine embroidery will work if the initials are very simple and straight lines.

hand stitch, an easy way is to use embrodry floss and spell your initals

sewing machine could work too, just make tight horizontal stiches, do one part of the letter at a time because remember, you will be able to see the back
